Prepare to Move to Prosper

April 19, 2022

Small but mighty, Prosper is drawing families far and wide due to its affluence, great schools and laid back lifestyle.

The North Dallas community benefits from proximity to Celina, Frisco, McKinney and Denton. Dallas is 45 minutes away. Prosper itself is considered one of the top 25 best suburbs for families according to Niche.

Upscale master-planned communities like Star Trail attract homebuyers with a combination of luxury homes and extensive amenities. The enclave dedicated more than 53 acres to parks and trails. The centerpiece is a 5-acre amenity complex featuring a gorgeous 6,000-square-foot clubhouse anchored by three pools. Two large party pavilions with grills and picnic tables are available for outdoor celebrations. Separate playground equipment keeps children 4 and under and those aged 5 to 12 years busy. Two lighted tennis courts keep residents fit.

Prosper ISD meets the educational needs of most young scholars. It scored No. 11 on Niche’s 2022 list of the top school districts in Texas. The graduation rate is 98 percent, and 58 percent of graduating seniors attend four-year universities. Another 28 percent attend two-year community colleges.

Frontier Park is a favored spot for hanging out and playing ball. The sports complex features lighted natural and turf fields for soccer, softball and baseball, trails, a catch-and-release pond, splash pad and playground. It was voted Best Park in 2020 by readers of Living magazine. Gentle Creek Country Club is a private course that meanders through 235 acres of manicured fairways and wooded countryside.

For shopping, most residents head to The Gates of Prosper, an 800-acre mixed use development featuring retail such as Wal Mart, Five Below, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Old Navy and more. The center is also a great place to grab a bite to eat at its many fast casual and fine dining restaurants and bars.

In addition to restaurants at The Gates of Prosper, locals enjoy Cotton Gin Café, JC’s Burger House and Ernesto’s.

Traveling farther afield, Prosper residents can visit the Shops at Legacy and Legacy West for premium shopping, The Star in Frisco for Dallas Cowboys memorabilia or spend the day at Towne Lake Recreation Area.
