Located 15 miles from downtown San Antonio and 10 miles from Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch consistently makes lists of the top suburbs in the area. Niche recently ranked it No. 60 out of 415 on its list of “Best Suburbs to Live in Texas.”
Fair Oaks Ranch appeals because of its natural beauty with more than 10 miles of nature trails, several family-friendly parks and acres of rural landscaping. The city maintains a rural feel due to limitations on commercial real estate, meaning very few franchises.
Although Fair Oaks Ranch is known for beautiful custom houses, there are actually a wide array of home options available. Arbors at Fair Oaks Ranch is a gated enclave featuring oversized, wooded homesites as well as 75 acres reserved for walking trails, green spaces, wildlife and wildflowers.
Children of Arbors at Fair Oaks Ranch attend schools in the Boerne ISD. The district is considered one of the top 30 best school districts in Texas by Niche. Much of life in Fair Oaks Ranch revolves around the Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club. Amenities include two championship golf courses, tennis courts, pools, fitness facilities, and dining.
Most residents do their shopping in Boerne, although there is an H-E-B just down the street for groceries. The community offers easy access to The Rim and The Shops at La Cantera. Favorite restaurants include Coco Bistro, Cappareli Bros, Richter, Las Guitarras and Compadres Hill Country Cocina.
