Young, first-time homebuyer Nicholas expected a drawn-out process on his path to homeownership.

Instead, buying his first home was an “amazing” experience, thanks to Coventry Homes.

Finding the Right Home

Nicholas’ search started with selecting where to live — in his case, Bridgeland, a large master-planned community in Cypress that offers a wealth of amenities, many onsite conveniences, and appealing natural features. It reminded him of home, he said.

“I am from The Woodlands, so the similarities between the two communities were very appealing to me.”

After picking his community, it was time to select his home. Nicholas chose The Covington, a four-bedroom design that would answer his needs for years to come. Nicholas said he was impressed with the space and layout of the 2,437-square-foot home, which features a large open living area, two downstairs bedrooms, an upstairs game room, and two more bedrooms with a third full bath upstairs.

The Right People at Your Side

During his search for a first home, Nicholas felt his age caused some builder sales representatives to not view him as a serious buyer. Not so with Coventry’s Jenelle. Her thorough knowledge and willingness to spend time with him impressed Nicholas.

“I had asked Jenelle to walk through what is now my home one afternoon, and she made time in her schedule to walk me through it and address any concerns I had on the spot,” he said. “I went under contract that same night.”

He experienced the same consideration with Coventry’s in-house lender, Jet HomeLoans.

“They were very helpful and attentive, answering the many questions that I had throughout the process,” he said. “Really, the process went quicker than I originally expected.”

Advice for Other First-Timers

Nicholas emphasizes the importance for first-time homebuyers to know what they want and not be pressured into a home that’s not the right fit.

“Be patient but also know what you want,” he advises. “The best deal for you personally is very important.”

Final Thoughts
